ADVANCED CLASSES

Intermediate and Squad classes are on an invite only-basis.
As we recognise that our gymnasts have a broad range of ability and experience, we also have a series of more advanced Gymnastics for All classes that gymnasts move into when invited to do so by their coaches.
We look for potential young talent from as early as 5 years old. We do this by “spotting” children from any of our recreational classes by our senior coaches, and inviting these children on to further development by way of a “trial process” to potentially join one of our many Intermediate/Squad teams which will best suit their age and ability. We do this in consultation with the parents.
INTERMEDIATE CLASSES
In the intermediate classes the gymnasts (1.5 to 2hrs class/week) will work through the British Gymnastics Proficiency awards bronze, silver and gold. The gymnasts again have to pass 6 out 10 moves from each badge to earn their badges. We encourage the children to work all 10 moves on the badges to ensure they are working to their best ability.
SQUAD CLASSES
All our squads (over 2hrs a week) are preparing and working towards more competitive gymnastics for the regional London competition.
All children in our intermediate classes will be required by the club to enter the London GfA Competition Level 1 and Level 2. Coaches will then decide if any outstanding children from intermediate classes would also be ready to perform to a good standard on level 3.In order to be in line with London Gymnastics Competition requirements which gets tougher each year, we have decided that 2 hrs training a week is not enough if we want our gymnasts to perform with confidence and to have decent results on the next competitions. We will need at least an extra hour a week to work only on floor routines as from level 3 and above children need tailored choreographies which require more time and attention to detail.
Therefore only children in our squads will be required to enrol in levels 3 to 6.
PBGA In-house Competition
This is a friendly internal competition organised each year by our club (usually in May) where all children in our club (regardless of age, ability, number of hours) are required to attend.
All children will receive a medal according to their performance. Our competition is run with London GfA, but adapted to our children groups.
Around March, we will upload on our Facebook page clips with clips of different routines for children and their parents to enjoy.
